Ok so a (very) late New Years Rezzy is to update this blog a little more. Been super busy the last couple of months making pieces for my Graduate Collection, creating a website (www.rachaelbrame.co.uk) and trying to finish the Salt and Pepper pots that I've been making out of my £400 Goldsmiths Precious Metal Bursary Award! So excited at finally being able to do some real challenging silversmithing work and i've really enjoyed working with the material, its so soft and easy to manipulate, although i have melted a bit! Thankfully my amazing tutor Anna Lorenz AKA Silver Wizard (www.annalorenz.com) took the part to her workshop and made it from scratch again in her own time, what a gem!
On the job front, I went over to Bradford College today to enquire about their AA2A  (Artists Access to Art Colleges- www.aa2a.org) which gives Artists opportunities to use the facilities in their local colleges for free, and apparently gives you £200 for materials! There are loads of colleges all over the country participating in the scheme so if you fancy some free space to do your work, get involved! Hopefully I will hear back from them in a couple of months. In the meantime im keeping in touch with both Foundation Course directors at Bradford and Craven where ill hopefully get some teaching experience.

Anyway here is a sneaky peek at my Salt and Pepper Pots in progress; forgive the messy solder i havent cleaned them up yet!
